While celebrating a 28-year career with the South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT), John dedicated 23 of those years to management roles centered on the design, construction, operation, and maintenance of highways and bridges. During his time in SCDOT District 4, John served as Resident Construction Engineer, District Construction Engineer, and District Engineering Administrator. He also served on various technical, leadership, and administrative advisory committees representing SCDOT throughout South Carolina.

Since retiring from SCDOT, John has transitioned into engineering consulting where he thrives as a CE&I Manager. He leverages this experience to ensure that CE&I staff are properly trained and equipped to deliver top-tier service. John manages an outstanding group of inspectors for Parrish & Partners, providing CE&I services to state, county, and municipal clients. John’s experience working with agencies and government entities allows him the ability to provide reliable and trustworthy engineering services.

John is a proud alumnus of Clemson University, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering. He holds Professional Engineering licenses in both North Carolina and South Carolina.

During his personal time, John enjoys spending time with his family and friends, fishing, kayaking, playing golf, or simply relaxing by a campfire.
